In 2018, they have brought their attention to Verbena, or Verveine in French. The Verbena family in horticulture generally refers to a slew of semi-woody herbaceous flowering plants, with over 250 species. The small groups of fragrant flowers attract butterflies and other insects regularly.
A Verbena Variety
Long used as an herb in folk medicine, Verbena has been cultivated in a variety of ways, and its list of applications are long. At one point in time, it was even considered to have been a magical herb and used as a cure-all for ailments, and may have even been used in love potions. Today, verbena leaves are often used in teas and other similar elixirs and are still widely considered to be useful in alternative health practices.
Lemon Verbena
Fragonard's Verbena perfume for 2018 features the freshness of Verbena, and adds the notes of white flowers in ylang-ylang and jasmine to compliment. The flowers of the Verbena plant themselves are a lemon-like floral that feature a rich citric scent, but far from bold or overpowering. A chorus of woody notes from Atlas Cedar, patchouli, and amber finish Fragonard's tribute to Verbena to create a more well-rounded perfume that is delicate and fresh. The fragrance formula was created by Fragonard Perfumer Céline Ellena.
