Napoleon Francois Joseph Charles Bonaparte, Duke of Reichstadt (20 March 1811 to 22 July 1832) was the only son of Napoleon Bonaparte and his second wife, Marie Louise of Austria. He was known from birth as the "His Majesty the King of Rome".
Jean Rance, son of Francois Rance created and dedicated this perfume to the son of Napoleon in 1811. It was hoped that the young Prince could repeat the feats of his illustrious father. This spirit is reflected in the bold intensity of this fragrance while still embracing the favored Mediterranean tones.
The François Charles Soap Box Set by Rancé 1795 presents six artisan soap bars, each infused with the signature fragrance: a spicy-wood aromatic blend featuring basil, cardamom, lavender and bergamot in the top; thyme absolute, ginger, geranium and jasmine in the heart; and Virginia cedar, iris, ambergris, leather and musk at the base.
Crafted through Rancé’s traditional process, triple-milled, aged, hand-wrapped and boxed, this set is designed to elevate daily cleansing into a refined ritual of French perfumery.
